3rd Annual 2019 Dos Rios Watershed Clean-up - September 21st, 2019
The City of New Braunfels, with the help of local partners and sponsors, is hosting the 3rd Annual Dos Rios Watershed Clean-Up on Saturday, September 21st from 9 AM until noon. In case of inclement weather on September 21st, October 5th has been selected as a rain date for the event. This year the City of New Braunfels is partnering with Headwaters at the Comal. The Headwaters at the Comal grounds will be our morning meeting location, a clean-up location, and where everyone will meet for lunch once the clean-up has wrapped up.
Registration will begin at 8:30 AM on the day of the event. You can register in advance by visiting our Registration Page.
Volunteers will meet at the Headwaters at the Comal (333 E Klingemann St., New Braunfels, TX 78130; MAP LINK) & will then be transported to individual clean-up locations.
The event involves collecting litter from river banks, parks, and contributing watershed areas. There are a variety of locations to choose from. When you register you can select the type of location that you wish to help clean up.
Easy: Landa Park, Cypress Bend Park
Moderate: Dry Comal Creek Trails, Faust St. Bridge
Kayak/ Canoe clean-up: utilizing watercraft to clean up along the Guadalupe River
Breakfast, lunch, clean-up supplies, and t-shirts will be provided to volunteers.
Interested in continuing to keep the rivers and watersheds healthy?
As a way to further our efforts to preserve the integrity of our watersheds, the City of New Braunfels has implemented an Adopt-A-Spot Clean-Up program, to raise public awareness, educate citizens, and generate community involvement by adopting a spot in the watershed to clean.
